The 2012 London Olympics was a terrific success, with the city of London doing
itself proud. But the games are not over yet, because this week the 2012
Paralympics kicked off in the capital, and like the Games before it, is
turning out to be not only a great treat for spectators, but for betting fans
too.
Paralympics Markets Attract Betting Fans
While the 2012 London Paralympics doesn't boast as many sporting disciplines and
events as the Olympics, it has more than enough to keep both betting fans and
spectators engrossed. These include Archery, Athletics, Boccia, Cycling Road,
Cycling Track, Equestrian, Football 5-a-side, Football 7-a-side, Goalball, Judo,
Powerlifting, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Sitting
Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Fencing, Wheelchair Rugby and
Wheelchair Tennis.
As a result, many of the UK's premier land and and online betting firms have
posted a good selection of Paralympics betting markets, from daily events to
outrights to specials. One such premier betting operation is William Hill, which
has posted a wide range of lines (with a British slant) on this epic sporting
event, which you can wager on right now.
For instance, in terms of UK athletes in individual events scheduled for this
weekend and beyond, there are many, including Ellie Simmonds, who has been
posted at 1/12 odds to win gold in the 200m free style in swimming, and
Jon-Allen Butterworth, who has been posted at 1/7 odds to win gold in the 100m
Time Trial in cycling.
