The UEFA Champions League (also referred to as the Champions League) is organised by UEFA every year. Champions League Betting is very popular and one of the biggest football betting markets for most bookmakers. Europe's big national leagues now get up to four positions each.
Ten teams who make it through an initial knockout competition join the 22 seeded teams in an eight group format of four teams each. The final phases is a knockout competition made up of the group winners and runners up.
21 clubs have won the title. Barcelona are the current champions (3 wins in total). Since the tournament changed name and structure in 1992, no club has managed consecutive wins. Real Madrid has won the tournament the most times (9 titles).
To illustrate the value of competing in the Cup, UEFA awards €3 million to each team that qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. Teams will receive another €2.4 million for making the Group stage. Each Group stage win earns another €600,000. Quarter finalists receive €2.5 million, semi-finalists another €3 million, the runners up another €4 million and the champions get an additional €7 million.
