Super Fun 21 Rules

Blackjack Rules - Difficulty Level Of Easy

Some people refer to the game of blackjack as "21". This is due to fact that in both games, a player has to reach as close to 21 as possible (closer than the dealer) in order to win. However, this is a misconception as Super Fun 21 differs to blackjack in several ways. In fact, there are some parties who think that the games differ so much that Super Fun 21 is not allowed to be referred to as blackjack in Nevada casinos.

You may be excused for mixing Super Fun 21 and blackjack up as the basic rules of both games are almost identical. However, when getting into some of the more advanced rules, you will see how these two games are quite different.

Both blackjack and Super Fun 21 are equally as exciting - it just depends on what you are in the mood for. If you are familiar with the rules of blackjack then you will easily be able to grasp the rules of Super Fun 21.

These are the things in Super Fun 21 that make the game different:

  • Although some casinos use two decks to play this game, the general consensus is that one deck should be used.
  • In this game, the dealer has to hit on a soft 17.
  • You are able to double down with as many cards in your hand as you like.
  • If you wish to split, you may do so up to 4 times.
  • Unlike many blackjack versions, you are allowed to split Aces.
  • You are allowed to surrender later than conventional blackjack - even after splitting or hitting.
  • If your hand contains six or more cards and your hand total is 20 or less, your hand will beat anything the dealer has - this does not apply if you have doubled down.
  • If you have made up the total of 21 with 5 cards or more then you will be paid out 2:1 - again, this does not apply if you have doubled down.
  • If you have a blackjack, you will win automatically - even if the dealer also has blackjack.
  • A blackjack only pays out 1:1 unless it is a blackjack in diamonds which subsequently pays out 2:1.

As you can see, the rules start to differ between Super Fun 21 and blackjack as the rules become more intricate. The house edge in single deck Super Fun 21 is 1.16 and 1.30 when using two decks. Although this game adds a touch of excitement, most blackjack purists will stick to more conventional versions of the game.
