There are two types of bets that you can make in craps. You can place bets
that rely on a sequence of play in order to complete the bet or on single
throws.
Where many bets such as the pass line bet require you to wait for a certain
dice combination to be hit, the come and don't come bets allow you to place a
bet at any stage of the craps game on a single throw - except of course while
the shooter is busy throwing the dice.
Placing the bets is simple. All you need to do is place the chips in the
demarcated "come" and "don't come" areas.
These bets can only be placed after the come out roll. In essence, the come
and don't come bets function along the same lines as the pass line or don't pass
line bets.
Come Bets
If the shooter rolls 7 or 11 then you will win on a come bet. However, if the
shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12 then you will lose. If none of the above numbers are
rolled then the point number is established independently of any point that
could have been made in the come out roll.
This means that you need the shooter to roll this point for you to win.
However, if a 7 is rolled then you will lose your come bet. Come bets also allow
you to place odds bets in addition to the actual bet.
Don't Come Bets
Don't come bets function exactly like come bets in principle, but they are
played the opposite way. Once again, the bet is placed after the come out roll.
In order to win on this bet, the shooter needs to roll a 2 or 3. However, if the
shooter rolls a 7 or 11 then you will lose your don't come bet.
If the shooter rolls a 12 then the don't come bet is pushed with the online
casino and you can either take your bet back or let it ride again for the next
throw.
If 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 are not rolled then whatever number is rolled becomes
the point number. You then need to hope that the dealer does not roll this point
number because you will then lose your don't come bet. If the shooter rolls a 7
then your don't come bet will win.
Odds
Don't come bets and come bets pay out even money for a win and although there
is a slight house edge, this type of bet is one of the more popular bet in
online craps. These bets are also basic enough to use if you are new to the game
of craps and will allow you to take part in the game while still learning the
nuances and other betting options that are on offer.
