The Fibonacci System

As you may have noticed, there are many roulette strategy systems out there - and the most famous of these systems all seem to be named after people. Martingale, D'Alembert and now Fibonacci.
The Fibonacci system was actually designed by an Italian gentleman almost 1000 years ago by the name of Leonardo Piano - no relation to the musical instrument. Better known by his nickname, Fibonacci, the system was based on a natural progression of numbers.

The system is one of the safest betting systems around today and is even used in financial markets.

The Sequence

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377...

At first glance, the sequence seems slightly daunting. In fact, it makes little sense at all. However, with after a few minutes things become a whole lot clearer once you know how it works.

How the Sequence Works

The secret is to start at the first number (1) and add this number to the previous number (assuming that number is 0) which will give you 1 in this case. If you look at every number in the sequence, you will see that they are equal to the sum of the previous two numbers. Take the number 55 in the sequence. The previous two numbers together (34 + 21) make up 55.
Ok, so now you understand how the sequence works, but now you need to know how to apply it to roulette.

How the Sequence is Applied

You will start by betting a single unit. For our purposes, let us assume that this is equal to €1. You will keep betting €1 until you lose. Each time you lose you will move forward one step in the sequence. If you win, you move back two steps in the sequence.

What is the Point of the System?

Unlike other systems that try to win the money back quickly after a loss, this system works slightly slower and not as brazenly. This, however, tends to be a problem with more advanced gamblers who wish to up the ante at a much quicker level. There are several ways to get around this. Firstly, you can increase your unit size so that your bets are bigger from the start. Secondly, you can start higher up in the sequence.

The Fibonacci system is perfect for online roulette because you do not have to memorize the sequence if you have it taped to your computer or on your desktop. If you are looking for a way to win steadily and without the risk of losing your bankroll too fast then this system could be what you are looking for.
