Sic Bo Rules - Difficulty Level Of Easy

The game of Sic Bo is relatively easy to grasp once you understand the betting options. Unlike other games where there is a sequence of betting, you just need to place your bet in the designated betting area - depending on what you are betting on - and the dealer rolls the dice. You are then paid out according to the payout table if you have bet on a winning combination.

When you are betting, it is your responsibility to place your bet in the correct box. There is no way to change the bet once all the bets are in and the dealer is about to throw the dice. With this in mind, you should always keep your mind clear when playing Sic Bo.

This is even more important when placing multiple bets. You have the option of betting on any number of possibilities in Sic Bo. It all depends on your bankroll, level of experience and your playing strategy.

Now that the rules of Sic Bo are in place, let us recap on the betting sequence as this is what the game is based on:

The biggest bet you can win is by betting on a specific 3 of a kind combination. This means that you place a bet on the 3 dice landing on the same 3 numbers. This type of bet gives the casino a big edge as the payout is 150:1 and the house edge is 1 in 216.

A safer version of this is to bet on any three of a kind combination. This pays out 24:1, but this works out better than the 150:1 odds in the long run.

Another bet you can make is on 2 of a kind. These odds are slightly better for you as you only need two of the three dice to land the way you like. This pays out 8:1.

The small/big bet pays even money, but this is the safest bet you can make in Sic Bo and new players are encouraged to play this way until they learn the game. The small bet is betting that the three dice combination will be between 4 and 10 and the big bet is between 11 and 17. This does not include 3 of a kind.

A similar type of bet is to bet on the three dice adding up to a specific number. The payouts differ:
4- 50:1
5- 30:1
6- 18:1
7- 12:1
8- 8:1
9- 6:1
10- 6:1
11- 6:1
12- 6:1
13- 8:1
14- 12:1
15- 18:1
16- 30:1
17- 50:1

One of the more interesting bets is called the "duo" and this allows you to bet on any two numbers (not doubles). This pays out 5:1.

Another bet for novice players is on the 1 of a kind. This is a bet on a single number. If this number comes up on one of the three dice then you are paid 1:1. However, you are paid out 2:1 if two of the dice land on this number and 3:1 if it lands on all 3. However, if you had bet on a 3 of a kind you would have been paid out much more. It is all about which odds you wish to take according to your style of play.
