Baby Steps Strategy
The baby steps slots strategy provides a staggered approach to betting. The
approach can be altered to suit any bankroll as it does not specify specific
amounts to bet, but rather an approach to betting. The player begins by betting
smaller and slowly increasing their bets over time. This means that the player
can warm up a machine with small bets and by the time the machine is hot, they
will be placing larger bets. On the other hand, if they lose when placing larger
bets, they will still not have lost too much of their bankroll. The player can
then go back to the beginning of their sequence.
Ladder Strategy
The ladder strategy is a methodical approach to betting where each bet is based
on the outcome of the bet before it. Players must begin play by betting an
average number of coins - that is, if you are playing on a five coin machine,
you start by betting 3 coins. Every spin you must change the number of coins
that you bet with. If you win a spin, you bet with one more coin and if you lose
a spin, you bet with one less coin. You must always increase or decrease by one
coin only. If you continually lose, you can bet with one coin for three
sessions. If you lose again after those three sessions, your session ends,
thereby limiting your losses if you are on a cold machine.
Play and Run Strategy
The play and run strategy is a method to try to find the most productive machine
as quickly as possible. This is a strategy that focuses on some-one with a
limited bankroll. You divide your bankroll between a certain number of machines.
You begin by choosing realistic and conservative naked pull (numbers of spins
you will spin on a machine without winning) and loss limit (the amount you are
prepared to lose on a machine). Always play with one coin and continue to play
until you reach your naked pull or loss limit. Always stick to your preset
limits and never leave a hot machine.
Shotgun Strategy
This strategy requires you to play short sessions on multiple different
machines. Players must set aside 15 coins per machine and at each machine you
must insert the coins in the same order of 1-2-3-4-5. Once you have played your
sequence, you move to the next machine. Players can vary the strategy depending
on their bankroll by limiting the number of machines they play at or by
shortening the sequence.
Umbrella Strategy
The umbrella strategy dictates that players gradually increase the number of
bets that they place and then gradually decrease them. Depending on your
bankroll and how aggressively you want to play, you can alter the length of your
pattern and the amount that you want to stagger your coins by. In this way, you
can spend more time betting the maximum amount if that suits you or you can jump
up to the maximum number of bets in a shorter period of time, but you must
always decrease again.
