Tonight (Friday, January 27) UK football have something to look forward to in
the form of the highly anticipated FA Cup 4th round Everton vs Fulham
showdown, which has attracted much betting action at online sportsbooks.
This is unsurprising considering that the FA Cup is well underway, and the top
teams are steadily chomping their way through the lesser teams in this
prestigious football knockout competition with one goal in mind - to hoist the
trophy high.
And in this vain, both Everton and Fulham are expected to give it their all this
evening, when the latter travel to Liverpool to face the former at Goodison Park
for their 20:00 GMT kick-off. As such, most online sportsbooks have laid Everton
as the betting favorites including Ladbrokes, who have Fulham as EVENS to with
the match.
Everton vs Fulham FA Cup Odds at Ladbrokes
Everton - EVENS
Draw - 23/10
Fulham - 14/5
Everton may be coming off a hugely disappointing 1-1 English
Premier League home draw against Blackburn, a team they should have trounced
considering they face relegation at the end of the season, but they'll need to
bounce back to keep the considerably superior Fulham at bay tonight, in order to
progress to the FA Cup 5th Round.
Despite their wobbly record in the Premier League, having failed to win even
one of their previous four games, when it comes to the FA Cup they have fared
much better. Last time out they beat non-league rivals Tamworth to graduate to
the 4th Round. But they may well have their hands full against a currently
confident Fulham.
In terms of their status in the Premier League, Fulham have had a good run of
it of late, having only lost once in five matches. That record will no doubt
give them a major confidence boost ahead of this evening's game, coupled with
the fact that in their last FA Cup match, they trounced League one leaders
Charlton 4-0.
However, Fulham will no doubt be only to aware that in their last four
matches against Everton, they have lost all but one. Plus, and perhaps even more
psychologically worrying for them, is the fact their rivals have chalked up 18
consecutive home game wins against them in recent years.
We Expect Fulham to Win by 2-1 Tonight
So the question the Cottagers - and FA Cup 4th Round betting fans - will be
asking themselves is if they can make that 1-18 tonight, or whether they exit
the 2011-12 FA Cup with 19 straight away defeats to the Toffees? Only time will
tell, but for our 2011-2012 FA Cup betting buck, Fulham will prevail tonight
2-1.
