Today (Friday, September 28) the highly anticipated 2012 Ryder Cup got underway
at Medinah Country Club not far from Chicago, Illinois, where many of Europe's
top pro golfers will take on their American counterparts in the 39th edition of
this hallowed event. Our Weekend Sports Preview has more.
2012 Ryder Cup Golf Tourney Underway
Strategically, the European team captain Jose Maria Olazabal of Spain has
brought out his "big guns" early on in the form of current world # 1 Rory
McIlroy and teammate Graeme McDowell (both of Northern Ireland) who will play in
first four ball of this prestigious tournament.
They will take on veteran Jim Furyk and first-time Ryder Cup entrant Brandt
Snedeker in a matchup that many golf betting fans expect will "set the scene"
for the rest of the event.
In the a pre-Ryder Cup press conference, Olazabal made no bones about his
selection for the opening foursome, when he said: "We are just going out and try
to win points, period, that's it."

Arsenal vs Chelsea Premier League Football
Although a host of English Premier Leagues games are scheduled for the weekend,
the game we believe will keep English football betting fans on their toes the
most is Saturday's anticipated matchup between top London clubs, Arsenal and
Chelsea.
As the fiercest of derby rivals, there is always plenty of tension before and
during games between the Gunners and the Blues, and tomorrow's game should be no
different. Chelsea will be looking to extend their 13 point lead in the
Premiership, five games into the new season, while Arsenal will be looking to
improve their current fifth place standing, with 9 points.
The match will be played on Arsenal's home turf at Emirates Stadium, which
should give the home side a slight advantage against Chelsea, a club that has
proved to be virtually unstoppable so far this season. As Arsenal manager Arsene
Wenger pointed out, if the club can win most of their games at home against
stronger teams, it will have a big impact on their chances of winning the
premiership this season.
That said, the Gunners have failed to win the Premier League for the past seven
years, which is why many fans are starting to ask if perhaps it's time for
Wenger to step down?
Going into tomorrow's match, it is important to remember that Arsenal have
conceded just two goals so far this season, while Chelsea have yet to concede a
goal in an away game. From an Arsenal vs Chelsea betting point of view, Blue
Square online sportsbook have posted Arsenal as the favourites:

2012 Challenge Cup Rugby League Semi Finals
Tonight (Friday, September 28), the first Super League Challenge Cup semi-final
will see the mighty Wigan Warriors go up against the tough Leeds Rhinos at
8:00pm GMT.
There is much at stake considering it was in the same stage of
last year's Challenge Cup that the Rhinos knocked the Warriors out of the
competition. This means vengeance will be on the menu this evening, and
according to the Rugby League oddsmakers at Blue Square, the Wigan Warriors have
what it takes to pull off a victory judging by their overwhelming favourite
status.
In the other Super League semi-final at 6:15pm GMT on Saturday, St Helens
will take on betting favourites, Warrington in what should also prove to be a
nail-biter, with both teams obviously equally eager to make it through to the
Challenge Cup final to face Wigan or Leeds.
Here are both the 2012 Challenge Cup Rugby semi finals odds at Blue Square
internet sportsbook:
