By working on an open Android platform with a source code, the wireless phone
and accessory developer, Hop On is set to reap the benefits when it
launches its new casino wagering software.
Hop On announced its plans and said it would launch the new software at an
upcoming electronics convention to be held in Las Vegas.
The new software will essentially allow users to enjoy live interactive feeds
from legal and regulated gambling jurisdictions in order to try their luck and
pit their skills at games such as blackjack, poker, and baccarat - all through
the convenience of their own mobile phones.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Hop On, Peter Michaels said
about the new launch: "We will be bringing mobile gaming to Europe where gaming
is legal, secure and regulated. New 3G wireless technologies and phones will
play a big role in the growth of mobile gaming by making it more convenient and
secure. These new networks and phones will allow real time, exciting and player
to player betting to be possible."
The mobile gambling industry has shown to be one of the fastest growing in
the world, and recent statistics showed that this industry will generate almost
$16 billion very soon. Nevertheless, there is tremendous scope for growth, with
only a handful of mobile gambling service providers in the market, the majority
of which are clustered in the United Kingdom.
"Hop On is committed to bringing the latest technology to the market,"
concluded Peter Michaels, "and the Android open platform makes Hop On
competitive in the high end mobile phone market. This will create market value
for our shareholders."
