GameAccount, the skill games provider that partners with some of the
top gambling groups in the industry, has released interesting figures for the
last quarter to show just how strong it (and the industry) is going.
The company, which provides games to companies such as William Hill and Gala
Coral, said that there had been a hugely impressive increase of 75% in the
amount of money wagered through its games on the internet, compared to the
previous three month quarter.
All in all, GameAccount said that a staggering 100 million GBP was wagered in
the the last quarter.
"We're beginning to see a change in the way people are playing games online,"
said the Chief Executive Officer for GameAccount, Kevin Dale. "Partly in an
effort to save money, more and more people are turning to the internet for their
entertainment, and our person-to-person skilled games are exactly what they're
looking for."
The numbers released by GameAccount this week were in contradiction to the
gloomy forecasts for the rest of the UK economy. Whichever way one looks,
GameAccount seems to be the fastest growing online gambling group in the United
Kingdom. There has been a 38% growth in the number of real user players from the
last quarter alone - not bad for a company that posted only 10.5 million GBP in
stakes for the entire 2007.
There are number of secrets to Game Account's success, including the fact
that this was the first online gambling group to be licensed by the UK Gambling
Commission. Its unswerving commitment to top quality and industry reputation
means that more and more people seek out its games and software - and its
partners are reaping the rewards.
"Potential partners are now wise to this," said Dale, referring to the change
in gambling trends, "and are directly approaching us as a provider. By
exploiting the favorable conditions and reinvesting in product development and
our technology platform, we're able to continually improve our offering and
maintain our market leading position."
