Betting action is heating up for the finals of the Britain's Got Talent 2009
competition, scheduled for the weekend.
Susan Boyle sailed through the semi finals last weekend with a
stunning performance of a Cats song. While she was visibly nervous in the first
stanza, Boyle soon got over her stage fright and reminded viewers exactly why
her auditioning performance has been viewed tens of millions of times on You
Tube.
While there were definitely other fine acts that also made it through to the
finals, it seems that everyone is rooting for the 48 year old homemaker who, by
her own admission, has never been kissed.
Susan Boyle, nicknamed the Hairy Angel, caused the biggest turnaround in a
crowd's opinion after opening her mouth to sing during the first round of the
show. While she was clearly being mocked, both by the judges and the audience,
for her outer appearance, all that changed when she started singing a number
from Les Miserables.
Some online bookies have already shortened their odds for Susan Boyle to win
the show. Some sites such as Paddy Power and Bet365 have posted odds of 8/15
that she will win, while Sky Bet offers 1/2.
Other sites, such as Blue Square made Boyle 8/11.
Other favorites featuring at online betting sites include Aiden Davies, the
talented 12 year old who hails from Birmingham, as well as the dancing act,
Flawless, which secured the second highest number of votes from the general
public.
