A UK based payment service has stepped in to help Norwegian online gamblers
continue play at their favorite sites, with the opportunity of paying through a
safe and discreet system.
Ivobank, which was started by the Genting Group and is registered by
the Financial Standards Authority, announced that it is partnering with one of
Norway's most popular non-state internet based gaming sites, NordicBet.
NordicBet will support payment by Ivobank from now on to provide players with
secure online payment services, despite the new legislation introduced by the
Norwegian government.
Norway recently passed laws pertaining to the gambling industry, with the
most controversial being the ban on citizens to make credit card payments or
money transfers to gaming sites not supported by the state monopoly.
"This is a great solution for our Norwegian customers, who are understandably
worried about security and discretion," said the Chief Executive Officer of
Nordic Gaming Group Ltd., Per Hellberg. "Our message is that the new laws don't
mean an end to online gaming in Norway."
The Nordic Gaming Group is a Malta based, privately registered group that
owns and operates NordicBet.
By using Ivobank, Norwegian players simply make payments into UK bank
accounts and thereafter order transfers and payments to other merchants.
