Taking advantage of its wide distribution among commuters in the United
Kingdom, the free publication Metro has decided to launch a new mobile
sports book product in the country.
Together with Blue Square and the mobile betting software betting group,
Mkodo, Metro announced that the new MEBet Mobile will be promoted through the
publication's interactive activities online, via SMS and in print.
"This mobile sports book complements Metro's other mobile products and we
expect this to be very popular with readers," said the Business Development
Manager for Mkodo, Mark Gibson.
Metro already has a foot inside the gaming market in the United Kingdom,
having hosted a social platform for players of Sportech's New Football pool
predictions game.
Published by Associated Newspapers, the Metro is aimed at public transport
commuters in major cities across the country, including Cardiff, Birmingham,
London, Manchester and Glasgow.
Mkodo is a leading mobile betting software company and offers its products to
groups such as Sky Bet and Blue Square.
This is not the first UK publication to launch a mobile betting platform and
in fact, this is the third group since August 2009 to do so.
Metro joins the magazine Nuts who launched a mobile betting product with
Mfuse, which is also supplying Monkey Magazine with an online gambling product.
