The industry leading online gambling software provider, Net Entertainment,
has signed a lucrative deal with one of Italy's largest remote gaming service
provider Microgame.
The deal will see Microgame take delivery of Net Entertainment's award
winning casino product, CasinoModule, providing the Italian group's players with
a fine range of games and features.
The deal is seen especially beneficial to Net Entertainment, which will give
it a strategic foot in the door to the Italian market.
The Italian gambling industry is in the process of becoming regulated and
online casino software providers are battling to find a way in, in a bid to take
part of the pie.
The Chief Executive Officer of Net Entertainment, Johan Ohman said about the
latest deal: "Gambling is huge in Italy and is expected to generate a Gross
Gaming Yield exceeding 17 billion Euro in 2009, making it the country's third
largest industry. In light of this, it is obviously extra encouraging that one
of the dominant incumbents selects Net Entertainment as their strategic casino
partner thereby giving us a substantial footprint in a totally new market."
Microgame has a market share of 25% in the Italian market for poker, and 28%
in sports betting.
Revenues for the group exceeded €85 million in 2008 alone.
"We are very happy to join Net Entertainment to our exciting gaming project
for the new emerging Italian casino games market," said the Chief Executive
Officer of Microgame, Fabrizio D'Aloia. "The world wide recognized Net
Entertainment's expertise in the casino games development and marketing will be
strategic for Microgame to maintain the leadership on the Italian online gaming
market."
Net Entertainment, a Scandinavian group, caters for Europe's gamblers and
provides software to a number of top UK and European sites.
