The giant gaming group, Ladbrokes, has been recognized as one of the
top ranked companies in the world, following its acceptance by the Dow Jones
Sustainability Index.
This index, which was founded in 1999, tracks the financial performance of
sustainability driven companies around the world and recognizes those who are
are considered world leaders in sustainability,
Ladbrokes was one of 317 companies recognized in this index, which judges a
group across a wide number of fields that include risk management, climate
change mitigation, labour policies and corporate governance. All in all, there
are 58 sectors defined and analyzed.
Ladbrokes passed many of these with flying colours, making the group eligible
for recognition by the DJ Sustainability Index.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ladbrokes, Christopher Bell, said that he was
proud of the recognition, which confirmed the group's stature in the gambling
world.
"Corporate responsibility runs through everything we do and I'm pleased that
Ladbrokes has been recognized as the top ranked gambling in the world in this
area," he said.
The Indexes work in cooperation with unbiased and reputable bodies such as
the Dow Jones Indexes, STOCC Limited and SAM, and the Sustainability Indexes
provide asset managers with benchmarks to manage their clients' portfolios.
Praise was given to Ladbrokes for its crime prevention policies, security
systems, anti laundering policies and excellent HR practices.
