The journey is over for 27 year old Danyl Johnson as he was voted off the
X Factor on Saturday night.
Danyl came in fourth place of the competition - not enough to see him through
to the finals which will feature Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Joe McElderry.
The latter is touted by bookies to win the show in next week's finals.
Simon Cowell, who backed Danyl throughout the show, was visibly disappointed
when the results were announced.
"There is nothing I would have changed, nothing more he could have done,"
said Cowell. "It is jut one of those things. He has gone out on a high. He is a
graceful loser. I am genuinely, genuinely firstly upset and secondly I have to
say it has been a pleasure working with you."
In the meantime, Cowell has come under fire by Olly Murs for refusing to
allow him to attend his twin brother's wedding which took place just 16 miles
from the studio
Murs begged Simon for just a couple of hours off to act as best man, but
Cowell would not budge from his decision that Olly should spend the time
practicing for that night's semi final instead.
"I thought better of him," said Olly's twin brother, referring to Cowell. "I
thought he'd have a bit more Christmas spirit. But he's turned out to be nothing
more than Mr. Scrooge."
Odds for the final winner of the 2009 X Factor posted on Paddy Power are as
follows:
Joe McElderry - 4/11
Stacey Solomon - 9/2
Olly Murs 5/1
