Should players be backing the biggest golfing legend in history as we head
into 2010?
Tiger Woods has been in the headlines recently - for all the wrong
reasons. The player's marriage is falling apart as more and more stories emerge
from the woodwork involving his infidelities or, as he termed it himself, his
"transgressions".
Following the announcement that Woods was taking time off indefinitely from
golf to focus on being "a better husband, a better father and a better person",
the question on everyone's lips is when will he be back?
Betfair has posted odds of 1.49 that Tiger Woods will win no majors in 2010.
Odds for him to win one major in 2010 are 3.2
Woods is currently trading at 6.4 that he will win two majors in 2010 and
11.0 that he will bag three majors.
Tiger Woods has never made any secret about the fact that he is keen to break
Jack Nicklaus' record to win 18 major titles, and according to the last count,
he has four to go.
The question is whether Tiger Woods will be emotionally ready to play at the
2010 US Open in June and golfing experts are saying that they would be really
surprised if he did not make this prestigious event.
In the meantime, sites such as Betfair and Paddy Power continue to trade on
Tiger Woods' future.
The latest Paddy Power odds offered:
To win 2010 Open Championship: 2/1; To win 2010 US Masters: 5/2
