VC Poker Blocks Winning Players

by Ryan D. Jaeger

Several players at Victor Chandler Poker has been cut out of cash games

Due to a policy issued by iPoker that essentially penalizes its partner sites for having too many winning players, a number of poker players received a rude shock after their New Year celebrations regarding their future at one of their favourite poker sites.

Several regular cash game players at VC Poker, the poker arm of the Victor Chandler group, were surprised to receive an email that essentially shut them out of cash games.

"If you are not already aware, iPoker will be implementing a new policy in the New Year which will categorize players depending upon certain criteria," read the email. "The new policy will impose penalties on card rooms that in essence have a high proportion of winning players in relation to losing players."

"Regrettably, therefore" continued the email, "we are being forced to restrict a number of accounts in order to comply with the new policy and to avoid penalization by iPoker and it grieves me to inform you that we have no option for the time being other than to restrict the cash game stakes at which you play on Victor Chandler Poker."

The email goes on to say that the group sincerely regrets taking this action and that it hopes that the policy will change in the near future so that players can once again enjoy playing cash games at Victor Chandler Poker.

"In the meantime, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this action will cause but know that you can still play in tournaments and on any other of the Victor Chandler suite or products."

The email was signed by Victor Chandler International.
