NFL bookmakers have installed the Dallas Cowboys as solid -4 point favourites
in their 1st round playoff game (the "wild card" round) against their NFC East
division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboys opened as slight -1.5 point favourites when the line was announced
earlier this week but a flood of money for the home team, who will be looking to
beat the Eagles for the third time in a row this season, has seen that number
balloon out in late trading.
Bet365, one of our recommended choices for betting on the NFL, have also seen
plenty of wagers struck on the Over/Under "total points market" for the game.
That number has, however, remained constant trading at the 45 point mark.
Our pick is for the Eagles to record a shock, perhaps not on the money line, but
certainly against the spread. We also like a bit of the Under as these playoff
games can be tense affairs that don't produce as many points as the casual
bettor expects.
