A long anticipated match between Chelsea and Cardiff City will kick
off at noon on Saturday February 13th.
This is the first time in 83 years that the two clubs are joining in a FA Cup
meeting.
The historic 1927 meeting saw both sides draw 0-0, before Cardiff went on to
take a 3-2 victory during the replay. It was in that year that Cardiff went on
to win the FA Cup at Wembley, beating Arsenal 1-0.
This time, Cardiff is up against the great Chelsea team, and if the odds at
UK bookie sites are anything to go by, they have a tough game on their hands.
Paddy Power has posted 1/6 odds of Chelsea winning the match on Saturday,
with odds of 16/1 that Cardiff will be the victors.
Several bookmakers have announced their intention to stream the game live,
including Ladbrokes which offers free streaming service at Ladbrokes TV.
To benefit from this service, players need to sign up and register at the
site, and if they redeem a promotion code, they will be rewarded with £25
free.
Bet 365 is also offering a streaming service and new players can earn a £100 free bet.
In the meantime, Cardiff announced that it would be granting John Terry leave
from the FA Cup tie this weekend so that he could deal with the pressing
problems in this private life.
Terry was sacked as captain of the English side after it was discovered that
he had an extramarital affair with the ex-partner of one of his team mates.
He is expected to fly to Dubai this weekend to try and make amends with his
wife and mother of his twins, and will therefore not be able to take part in the
Cardiff match.
"He will not play this weekend," confirmed Chelsea assistant manager, Ray
Wilkins. "Carlo [Anncelotti] is giving him a bit of time off. He will come back
and prepare for our game against the Wolves on the 20th."
