Last Friday, Tiger Woods gave a dramatic press conference where he
apologized to his wife, family, fans and sponsors over the havoc that the
exposure of his extramarital affairs has caused.
While many were tuned in to the emotional side of the golfer's statement, a
fair number of entities were interested in the repercussions that Woods'
announcement would have on the future of his once-brilliant golfing career.
UK bookies were left puzzled by the press conference, as Tiger Woods remained
non committal regarding his return to the golfing greens.
Most bookies agree that Tiger will return to golf at sometime this year and
take part in at least one PGA.
Odds are being offered that Woods will jump start his career through the
Arnold Palmer Invitational, while other tournaments, including the US Masters
and the US Open are also listed as options.
Paddy Power is offering odds that Tiger Woods will win no major tournaments
this year. These odds changed from 3/1 before the press conference, to 11/10
after.
There are also odds for Woods winning one, two or three majors, while high
rollers may want to consider odds of 50/1 that Woods will have four major titles
in this back pocket by the end of this year.
Tiger Woods odds currently available at Paddy Power concern how many majors
he will win in 2010. In order for bets to stand, Woods will need to take part in
all four majors.
None - 11/10
1 - 6/4
2 - 9/2
3 - 16/1
All 4 - 50/1
