When sportsmen as great as Tiger Woods fall, they have a long way down. One
of the biggest sports heroes of all times, the golfer seemed to have it all - a
brilliant career, multi million dollar sponsorship deals, a stunning wife and
two beautiful young children,
And then, literally overnight, that all came crashing down around him when it
was revealed that he had been unfaithful to his wife with numerous women.
His wife left him, his sponsors are backing away one by one, and there is no
definite date for his return to the green.
His first move, after staying out of the spotlight for a while and reportedly
attending a rehab clinic for sex addiction, was to hold a press conference where
he apologized to everyone involved.
UK bookies offer various odds on Tiger Woods' future, ranging from his future
with his wife, Elin, to how many majors he will win this year.
Some predict that he will not win any majors out of the four that are being
held this year.
There are also markets offered regularly regarding Tiger Woods' sponsorship
deals, such as the future of his partnership with his biggest sponsor of all,
Gillette.
When Gatorade finally decided to cut ties with Woods at the end of February,
it was half expected but still came as a shock to the golfer.
"We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended
our relationship," said a spokesperson for Gatorade.
Will Gillette become fed up with Woods sitting on the sidelines and look for
another face, or will the man prove his resilience and make an historic
comeback?
Will his wife forgive him or will she take him to the cleaners and sue him
out of the biggest divorce settlement in history?
