As West Ham squares off against Chelsea on Stamford Bridge on
Saturday, all eyes will be on the Hammer's manager to see if he will allow Fabio
Daprela a Premiership debut.
The under 19 star from Switzerland, who is currently a reserve skipper for
West Ham, has been playing exceptionally well in the past few months and he
hopes that the team's manager will allow him to play against Chelsea on March
13th.
"It's a dream when I can play at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea," he said.
"But we don't know if that will happen. On Saturday, we will see what the
manager does."
"I'm always ready when the manager wants me to play," he added.
Chelsea is definitely in top form to take the match on Saturday and could
even claim top spot in the Premier League table as Manchester United is not
playing again until Sunday.
The Hammers, meanwhile, need to pick up the pace if they don't want to find
themselves on the wrong side of the table. At present, they are in 16th place -
just three spots away from the dreaded drop zone.
Last weekend West Ham were defeated at home 2-1 by Bolton, causing the team
even more grief.
"There is not much to say, the players know exactly what happened and why we
lost," said West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola after the match. "This is a lesson
that we cannot repeat. It is a big lesson and we will respond next time."
That 'next time' will need to be proven in Saturday's match. Does West Ham
have the drive to win against a power house like Chelsea in order to move higher
up the table?
Paddy Power has odds of 1/5 that Chelsea will win the match, 5/1 that it will
end in a draw and 14/1 that West Ham will win.
