What will Phil Brown do next? That seems to the question occupying the
football world at present, after the Hull City coach was sacked this week.
At the beginning of the week, there was a rush of action at betting sites as
punters sought to back odds that the Hull City manager would be the next
Premiership manager to leave his team.
While odds were originally posted at 16/1 that Brown would be the next boss
out, by the end of the day those had plummeted to just 4/6 at major bookie
sites.
The rumours proved to be true and Brown was given the boot later in the week.
The latest news is that Hull City has indicated its interest in the current
Portsmouth boss, Avram Grant to replace Brown.
Sky Sports News reported that while the Israeli coach is still contracted to
Portsmouth, he is unhappy with his tenure on the South coast and is looking to
make a move.
However, it was later learned that while Hull City offered Grant the job, the
turned them down, saying that he could not quit right now.
A man of very few words, Grant nevertheless shared that he could not leave
his fans now and wanted to repay the loyalty that they had showed.
This leaves Iain Dowie as the top choice to take over from Brown.
Bookies are currently offering odds on what Phil Brown plans to do next, as
