With Liverpool having had such a poor year, analysts have no qualms about
predicting that they will lose against Manchester United when the two
giants meet on Sunday, March 21st.
Bookies are agreeing and have posted odds of 7/10 that United will win the
match.
Nevertheless, there are some who say that Manchester United have not been as
imperious either this season, and since this will be the biggest derby in UK
soccer, anything might happen.
Will Liverpool's desperation for victory drive the team to win the match, or
is Manchester United's quality enough to see the team through on Sunday?
As one analyst stated: "Liverpool have not had a good season and their
inconsistency doesn't make them favourites to win this fixture. They are lacking
creativity and have also recently been criticized for not having the right
attitude to win the big games."
The analyst continued: "After their fantastic win against AC Milan last week,
Manchester United on the other hand will be confident of success, and with Wayne
Rooney on top form and the home advantage, I can definitely see them coming away
with a victory."
William Hill, one of the UK's leading bookies, has odds of 4/6 that
Manchester United will win the match, 5/2 on a draw and 9/2 on a Liverpool win.
Odds of 5/1 have been posted that the final score will be 1-0.
Paddy Power is offering odds of 7/10 on a United win, 12/5 on a draw and 9/2
on a Liverpool victory.
Paddy Power is also offering a money back special to its punters. If Wayne
Rooney scores with a header, the bookie will refund all losing first/last goal
scorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.
