The Aintree Grand National may be one of the most historical races in
the United Kingdom, but when it comes to current fashion, this event certainly
stands out.
This year will see the 164th running of the Aintree Grand National and
bookies are already getting into the action of this exciting event.
Although there is no clear favourite to win just yet, eyes will definitely be
on horses such as Big Fella Thanks (with odds of 8/1), Mon Mome (12/1) and
Tricky Trickster (14/1)/
Eyes will also roam to Ladies Day at Aintree, where lovely women dressed in
their finery congregate at the races to meet and mingle.
Last year, over 50,000 women descended on the races, turning into an exciting
event into one that is even more colourful and glamorous.
One of the celebrities who has made quite a name for herself as an
interesting dresser during the Grand National is Colleen Rooney, wife of
footballer, Wayne Rooney.
Last year, Colleen attended Ladies Day wearing a multi collared floating
dress prompting rumours about a pregnancy that later proved to be true.
She also presented a style award to the most fashionable racegoer as part of
the Style 2009 competition.
Bookies are already posting odds about Colleen's dress this year as a run-up
to the excitement generated by the races.
Odds are on that the predominant colour of her dress this year will be pink
(3/1), followed by white (4/1), green (5/1) and brown (5/1)/
Odds of 100/1 that she will wear a dress with a Union Jack design have also
been posted, while a 500/1 have also been found on bookie sites that her dress
with feature the Manchester United symbol in honour of her husband's team.
