It may be across the Atlantic, but the American Idol song contest has also
taken the United Kingdom by storm.
UK bookies are offering odds on the outright winner of Season Nine of this
popular show, and by the looks of things, Crystal Bowersox looks to be a clear
favourite.
Bookmakers such as Ladbrokes, William Hill and Paddy Power are offering odds
of 15/8 that Bowersox will take the victory title, with her talent and
originality showing through week after week.
The 23 year old Bowersox, a firm folk song and blues musician, grew up in
Ohio and feels mostly at home behind her guitar.
She was hospitalized shortly during this season, but came back to provide one
rendition after another and continues to impress the judges.
"You are the truth," said Randy about one of Crystal's performances.
Odds on Bowersox continue to get shorter and shorter, although there are also
good odds on Siobhan Magnus (3/1) and Lee Dewyze (5/1).
The singing cowboy, Casey James, remains a firm favourite with the woman,
with a market of 5/1 on his chances of winning American Idol.
