Tombola Bingo to Sponsor Premier League Team

by Renee Israel

Tombola Bingo becomes new sponsor for Sunderland AFC

One of the most well known soft gaming sites in the United Kingdom, tombola.co.uk, has become the official sponsor of the Sunderland AFC.

The deal will see Tombola Bingo's logo on Sunderland's home and away shirts from June of this year, with the deal covering the 2010/2011 soccer season.

The logo will also be displayed at Sunderland's home ground, the Stadium of Light.

It is believed that the exposure that Tombola Bingo receives from the new sponsorship deal will help push the quality brand even further.

"We are thrilled to be joining forces with Tombola at what is a really exciting time in our football club's journey," said the Chairman of Sunderland, Niall Quinn. "The company's headquarters are in Sunderland so they know exactly what the club and the city are all about and we are excited by the possibilities this partnership offers to us both."

Tombola was launched in 1999 and has been providing quality games to the public since then. The group created an online bingo brand for the Sun in 2006 and in 2008 became one of the biggest online bingo sites in the United Kingdom.

Tombola is also the official sponsor of the ITV soapie, Emmerdale.

"Sponsoring Sunderland AFC is a fantastic opportunity for Tombola," said the Chief Executive of the group, Paul Cronin. "We have our own head office here in Sunderland we have been able to see the work that Niall and his team have done to transform the fortunes of the club. We're really looking forward to working with Sunderland and we're confident that this sponsorship will help us achieve our own ambitions."
