The Conservatives have issued a battle cry to the UK public to join the party
and help change the face of the country.
Several bookies have odds of 8/15 on a Conservative majority.
The question remains whether a strong leader for the Tories will help the
party break Labour's 13 year grip at the helm.
Victor Chandler's odds of 4/1 that William Hague will be the next
Conservative leader seems to resonate across the industry.
Hague visited Bolton this week to launch the party's new manifesto and said
that he was working hard to crack the North West region - traditionally a
difficult area to garner support for the Tories.
Speaking at the launch, Hague said: "This is a real choice for people. This a
chance to get rid of the top-down, stateheavy democracy and give people a choice
over their own lives. We want people to be responsible for their own decisions
and we have a choice between change with the Conservatives or ruin with Labour".
"Britain is a great, ingenious country that has been sat on for too long by
too much bureaucracy and too much regulation," he said. "This offers not only a
change in Government but a change in the way the country is governed."
Next Conservative Leader odds at Victor Chandler as follows:
William Hague - 4/1
Boris Johnson - 9/2
George Osbourne - 7/1
Chris Grayling - 25/1
Greg Clark - 14/1
Theresa May - 40/1
Michael Gove - 16/1
