Manchester United is due to meet Tottenham Spurs in a Premier League
match of massive proportions on Saturday April 24th, with victory for both teams
vital.
Tottenham comes to Old Trafford with a back to back victory over two of the
League's top teams, Chelsea and Arsenal, and feels that nothing stands in their
way of a spectacular hat trick.
Tottenham is also dead set on pushing for Champions League football next
season and for that they need to finish in the top four of the current league.
However, winning for Manchester United is just as important, as a victory
will see Sir Alex's team to the top of the table, points wise. True, this may be
short lived if Chelsea wins against Stoke City on the weekend (highly probable),
but it will give them the boost they need to stay in the race.
Ferguson may be concerned about his lack of attackers on Saturday, with
Rooney not fully recovered from his ankle injury.
However, he can rest assured that there are players who are itching and
capable of scoring, including Scholes, Nani and Giggs.
In related news, the Daily Express has reported that Manchester United made a
bid for Tottenham's left back Gareth Bale, the talented Welsh international, for
the sum of £20 million.
The 20 year old is reportedly aware of the bidding action and a deal may be
discussed when the teams meet on Saturday.
