Come Sunday, betting fans across Spain will be glued to their TV sets to watch the final games of this season's
Liga de Fútbol Profesional, more commonly known as La Liga, the results of which will determine who becomes the Champions.
For many weeks now the race to be
La Liga champions has been between only two teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid, who have huge point leads over La Liga's other 18 teams. Which is not surprising as these two have dominated La Liga for years.
As the La Liga defending champions, Barcelona who have 96 points (just one point ahead of Real Madrid) will play Valladoid on Sunday (16th in the La Liga standings) while Real Madrid will play Malaga on Sunday (18th in the La Liga standings).
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid must pile on the goals and avoid being beaten if they want a shot at the title, particularly Real Madrid with their one point deficit. This season both sides have played superbly, even breaking the Spanish points record.
But it will all come down to Sunday. On paper a team of Barcelona's caliber should dispatch Valladolid without too much effort. However, Valladolid is facing relegation which means it may play harder than ever with a 'nothing to lose' attitude.
And Real Madrid are in precisely in the same boat with their opponents. Malaga too face relegation, and may also step up their efforts a notch or two. But whether that'll be enough to stop a confident and motivated Real Madrid will remain to be seen.
If on Sunday Barcelona and Real Madrid are tied in points, the La Liga Championship and trophy will go to Barcelona because they beat Real Madrid in both of their matches this season. Here is how top online sports book, BetUS.com sees the betting:
