The nominations for this year's BAFTA's Awards have just been announced, and
already betting markets are opening across the internet for the winners of this
year's competition.
The BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards honour
the best actors and actresses in the field, as well as the best broadcasts and
programs created this year.
Sites such as Paddy Power are offering markets on Best Actor, Best Actress,
Best Continuing Drama, Best Drama Series, Best Entertainment Program, Best
International Program, Best Situation Comedy and Best Sports Broadcast.
Some of the favourites include Julie Walters, who has been nominated twice in
the same category for Best Actress. These are for her roles in Mo and A Short
Stay in Switzerland.
Odds of 7/4 are being offered on Walters in Mo, and 5/1 for her other
performance.
Sophie Okonedo, for her role as Mrs. Mandela, has odds of 11/8 to take the
title for Best Actress.
Brendan Gleeson, for his role in the production Into the Storm, has odds of
13/8 to win Best Actor at this year's BAFTA, followed by 7/4 for John Hurt's
performance in An Englishman in New York.
