Betting markets for the Maggies opened this week at leading bookmakers in the UK and it is interesting to note which publications lead the way in their industry spheres.
The Maggies is a "national poll to celebrate and award the best magazine covers of the past year," according the the official website, which goes on to say: "The annual awards are a high profile competition, voted by the general public, and supported by the UK's leading magazine association, PPA."
Bookies have essentially divided their betting options into different sections, namely Fashion, Entertainment, Specialist, Technology, Lifestyle, Sport, Trade and Youth.
The Maggies winner in the Fashion section, for example, has odds of 11/8 that GQ's cover featuring Sienna Miller will win.
A second favourite is Vogue's front feature of Lara Stone at 7/4 or Harper's Bazaar's cover featuring Uma Thurman at 5/1.
In the sporting category, Whitelines has a good chance of taking home the winning title with odds of 7/4, followed by Autosport at 2/1.
The Maggies essentially recognize the covers that resonated strongly with the UK public during the year and managed to "encapsulate the passion of the subject matter."
