Despite rumors that Swedish striker
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - who is signed with
Spanish La Liga club Barcelona - was looking to move to top Italian Serie A club AC Milan, representatives of both parties have denied such a move.
When asked about the rumors, AC Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani told reporters that the club could not afford the 28-year-old striker. 'Ibrahimovic will not come to Milan,' he said. 'We simply don't have the finances to buy him.'
Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic's agent, Mino Raiola, also made it clear that the striker has no intention of leaving the top La Liga side. 'He will not move from Barcelona because he and his family are fine there,' Raiola told the media a few says ago.
As an afterthought he added, 'According to me, Ibrahimovic is worth 1 billion euros anyway.' But judging by his lack-luster season at Barcelona, 1 billion euros seems far off the mark, as does the £30 million Barcelona paid Inter for him.
The rumors were thought to have been sparked by Barcelona's recent acquisition of top striker David Villa from fellow La Liga club, Valencia. There was speculation that there was not enough room at Camp Nou for both Ibrahimovic and Villa.
One player that will be waving goodbye to Barcelona, however, is Ukraine defender, Dmytro Chygrynskiy, who will return to his former Ukrainian side, Shakhtar Donetsk. He spent just one season with Barcelona, for whom he played 15 times.
The 23-year-old Chygrynskiy has signed a 5-year deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, who won the 2009 UEFA Cup. The Ukrainian side is expected to pay 15 million euros for the center back. Barcelona paid 25 million euros for him in August 2009.
