Ronaldinho Poised To Leave Italian Serie A For Brazil

by Renee Israel

Reports that Ronaldinho wants to leave AC Milan
Footballing super star Ronaldinho has sent shock waves through Italy with the news that he is poised to leave top Serie A club, AC Milan, to return to his native Brazil and join Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.

As arguably one of the world's best footballers, there is no league that Ronaldinho wouldn't be welcome to play in, but he may be a little homesick for Brazil, as well eager to play for one of the country's top premier league clubs.

According to reports, the 30-year-old midfielder has been in talks with Flamengo and has 'verbally agreed' to join the successful Brazilian club. All that needs to happen is for AC Milan's hierarchy to approve Ronaldinho's move.

Until now Ronaldinho has does the rounds in top-level European football, having joined AC Milan in 2008 on a 3-year contract after leaving Spanish La Liga champions, Barcelona. But his journey has not always been easy on.

When Ronaldinho first joined AC Milan, it took him a while to find his feet. But when he did, he became one of the most dynamic and watched players in Serie A, helping the Rossoneri reach the top four in the 2009/10 Serie A.

After reaching such a high level in his career, it must have been very disappointing for Ronaldinho not to have been selected for the Brazilian national football team that traveled to South Africa for the recent 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In fact, many football experts believe that Ronaldinho's move to Brazil may be linked to his desire to be chosen for the Brazilian national football squad that will play in the 2014 World Cup, which Brazil itself will proudly host.
