While Spanish football fans can enjoy being the football World Champions for the next four years, many have turning their attention to the upcoming
La Liga season, which is seeing plenty of players coming and going.
As happens ahead of each La Liga season, players who excelled the season before are renegotiating their contracts and deciding if they are happy with their current teams, while those that did not face being sold or transferred away.
Similarly, using their oversized checkbooks,
La Liga teams are free to go 'shopping' for new players from Spain and abroad that they are convinced will help them fare better in the new La Liga season. Or so that is the theory.
In reality, nobody - including the managers, coaches, owners, players or fans - know how a team will perform in La Liga until it gets on the pitch and plays, regardless of how many tens of millions of euros are tied up in its players.
That said, up to now there have been many high profile moves in La Liga starting with a farewell. Spanish defender Ruben Pulido left his club Real Zaragoza to play in Turkey, after his salary demands were reportedly not met.
But Real Zaragoza scored by signing former Argentina goalkeeper Leo Franco, who left his Turkish club Galatasaray. The 33-year-old goalie signed a two-year deal with the Real Zaragoza, his fourth signing with a La Liga club.
Meanwhile, top-rated striker Luis Fabiano says he has no intention of leaving his current La Liga side, Sevilla. Despite showcasing his skill and talent in the 2010 World Cup for his native country Brazil, Fabiano is happy at Sevilla.
And amidst speculation that Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is looking to leave Barcelona, the club's head coach Pep Guardiola has stated that it's up to Ibrahimovic whether he want to stay or leave the top Spanish side.
Even La Liga 'new kids on the block' Hercules are seeking to bolster their line by signing Celtic striker Georgios Samaras. The Greek World Cup player has indicated that he is unhappy at the top Scottish premier league club.
