Betting group, Sportingbet, announced yesterday that it had entered into a lucrative sponsorship deal with Leeds United FC for the upcoming 2010/11 season.
The CEO of Sportingbet, Andy McIver, commented yesterday and said: "Leeds United fans are up there as some of the most dedicated supporters in the country and we're excited to be joining them at the start of this new season in the Championship."
He said that Sportingbet is busy working with Leeds United to create new offerings that will benefit fans and demonstrate the betting group's support and passion for the club on "a match day and in the wider community".
The sponsorship deal will see Sportingbet enjoy extensive match day branding at Elland Road, as well as exclusive match day betting.
Sportingbet will also become betting and gaming partner of Yorkshire Radio.
"We are delighted to announce the new betting partner agreement with one of the largest international online bookmakers," said the Chief Executive Officer of Leeds United, Shaun Harvey. "Sportingbet is a fully established brand within Europe and the rest of the world and it's important that the club continues to develop partnerships with strong, internationally recognized brands."
Harvey said that the new deal would see "Sportingbet operating both online and in stadia betting operations at the club."
"We have been impressed by Sportingbet's attitude and approach to the club and we are sure that the fans will enjoy betting with Sportingbet during the season," he added.
Sportingbet already has a significant sponsorship portfolio that reaches into several sports, including cricket, rugby and football.
