A punter with SkyBet sportsbetting site managed to land a double whammy payout within 24 hours of each other, after hitting it lucky on two five-fold accumulator bets.
By wagering only £1,000 overall, the player took home an incredible half a million pounds from the two payouts, making it one of the most remarkable wins in the sportsbetting group's history.
The punter first wagered £450 on a five-fold football bet, wagering on BATE, Hapo'el Tel Aviv, Debrecen, NK Marbor and Atkobe.
The first bet saw him win £250,000, which should definitely have caused him to open the bubbly.
However, less than 24 hours later, the anonymous punter found himself ANOTHER £250,000 richer on a £600 stake (Fjurdardens, MTK Budapest, Kaiserslautern, Southend, FC Ergzebirge).
This is not the first windfall for the player, who seems to have a knack for grouping together outsiders and making a big win on them.
A recent treble bet placed by the man earned him a super £90,000 payout.
"Bookmakers are normally happy when a whole host of short priced favourites lose, but this particular customer excels at lumping numerous outsiders together," said a senior football compiler with SkyBet, Mike Triffitt.
"His luck was in on Thursday as three of his selections were landed by late goals and we paid out £250,000 and hoped that was the end of it," he continued. "Last night Bayern (Munich) were all the rage before kick off and the hosts Kaiserslautern went off as an unfancied 13/2 shots but went on to win 2-0. Couple that with Southend's first away win since last Christmas at Bradford and it turned into a disastrous 24 hours for our traders."
"It's incredible really," concluded Triffitt, "to win £250,000 once is amazing - to do it on successive days is every punters' dream."
