Wayne Rooney is due to meet his wife today in a make or break session regarding the future of their marriage.
Sources close to Coleen say that she has not yet made any decision and is hoping to get some answers from her soccer star husband before doing so.
Rooney has been caught in a sex scandal, after a prostitute spilled the beans on their illicit liaison to the tabloids.
Before he was able to sit down and talk to his wife over these claims, soccer duty called and he flew to Switzerland this week with his team to play in a European Championship qualifying match.
Rooney scored the first goal for England in the match.
However, Rooney has to fly home to face the music and today marks one of the most important decisions for the young couple, who share a ten month old son, Kai.
Paddy Power has odds of 4/9 that the pair will not split this year, with odds of 13/8 that they will.
There are many elements in this decision.
Coleen Rooney knew that her husband had a history of illicit affairs before she married him, and she was prepared to take the risk that he would not become a repeat offender.
On the other hand, those close to the couple speak of a more settled Rooney since the birth of his son, and his genuine desire to be portrayed as a loving family man.
With the scandal comes sponsorship woes, and while Nike has promised to stick by Rooney, despite the alleged affair, there are already talks that some sponsors may drop him.
Paddy Power odds on the first sponsor to drop Rooney:
Asda 5/4
Ford 9/4
Nokia 11/4
Coca Cola 5/1
EA Sports 8/1
Nike 16/1
