Alderney Grants Gambling License To Net Entertainment

by Ryan D. Jaeger

Net Entertainment has received a Gambling License from Alderney

The Swedish internet gambling group, Net Entertainment, was granted a license by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, it was announced this week.

The group applied for a Category Two license from the reputable gambling jurisdiction in a bid to expand its operations around the globe.

The license now provides Net Ent licensees with access to the jurisdiction, which has a world class name for quality and strict levels.

Licensees will also have access to disaster and crisis recovery services once Net Entertainment completes its plans to establish a hi tech hosting site.

Speaking about the new gambling license and the possibilities provided to its own licensees, the Chief Executive of Net Ent, Johan Ohman said: "Net Entertainment has always focused on providing the highest reliability and availability and it should, therefore, come as no surprise that we are one of the first suppliers to provide disaster recovery services."

"There are today massive values at stake for the leading operators and this is why we are convinced that disaster recovery solutions will become a key prerequisite for doing business moving forward," he added.

The Director of eCommerce Development for the Channel Isle based Alderney, Robin Le Provost said: "We are proud to add Net Entertainment to our list of world-class licensed suppliers."

"Our rigorous licensing and verification process is widely seen as a seal of approval of the highest order, which is a key reason why we have become a major European hub for the online gaming industry," he said.

The announcement came only 10 days after Alderney granted a gambling license to the Austrian based Greentube, a subsidiary of Astra Games.

At the time, Le Prevost said: "Licensing and regulatory developments taking place across Europe mean that it is becoming more attractive to European gaming businesses to have an international base such as Alderney."

"What is significant for us with Greentube is that it is the beginning of a steady wave of interest from European-based companies."
