The new Superman movie which will be directed by Zack Snyder is due to be released at the end of 2012.
Small snippets of information are being released about the film that is due to begin production in mid-2011.
Reports have been released that the new "Man of Steel" movie will be filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
Peter Leitch, Chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC and President of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios stated that "[Zack Snyder's] next feature's coming here."
He won't confirm that he means the "Man of Steel" when discussing the feature to be produced in Vancouver, but it has been confirmed by a source.
The film is to be produced by Christopher Nolan and the script is being written by David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan.
The cast has not yet been officially announced and bets are open as to who will play the main character of Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman.
Several names have been thrown about as a possible Kent, however the studio is keeping their lips sealed at the moment.
Paddy Power has opened the betting lines and has lined up some of the favourites to play the role of the "Man of Steel."
Top choice is Matthew Goode who leads the odds at 11/4, followed by Jon Hamm at 3/1 and Patrick Wilson, Matt Bomer and Brandon Routh at 7/2.
Middle of the range at 20/1 you can find Ed Norton, Josh Brolin, Clive Owen, Ben Affleck and Gerard Butler. Ryan Reynolds stands at 80/1.
