Unibet, the Stockholm listed online gambling company, is keeping a close eye on the nominations in the different categories of the upcoming Academy Awards and is offering interesting betting markets.
The group has compared the winners in the recent Golden Globes awards with the newly announced Oscar nominations to bring punters the best odds available.
In a press release, Unibet said that with 10 nominations for the Best Picture Oscar, the decision will be a hard one.
There is expected to be a "neck-to-neck" race between the King's Speech with 12 nominations, True Grit with 10 and the Social Network with 8.
At present, Unibet has listed the Social Network to win at 1.50, although those who want to back the King's Speech can do so with odds of 2.45.
More certain are nominations for Best Actor, with everyone agreeing that Colin Firth deserves the award for his role as the stuttering King George VI. Odds at Unibet? 1.05.
According to Erik Backlund, the Head of Unibet's Sportsbook: "So many great films this year, which means that the Best Picture Oscar will truly be a neck-to-neck race."
"It will also be quite exciting to follow the Best Actress category and see which Golden Globe winner will prevail, as both Natalie Portman, priced at Unibet at 1.15 and Annette Bening at 5.00, won a Golden Globe for Best Actress 10 days ago!"
