The Alderney Gambling Control Commission will be helping the US state of Nevada with expert advise in the area of internet gambling thanks to a new partnership deal signed between the two entities.
While in the past outside agencies would approach Nevada for advice due to its 50 year history in the world of gambling, today the state feels that it is ready to seek advice from groups who have dealt with online gambling for a number of years.
As such, the state signed the deal with Alderney, which acts as an internet gambling regulatory body for the British Channel islands.
"There is no question that the internet gaming world is moving quickly and at a good speed towards Nevada," said the Gaming Control Board chairman Mark Lipparelli.
"We've realized that it is important for Nevada to form these alliances. We need to look at the places that have been regulating internet gaming and engage these regulators," he said.
In April last year, 888 Holdings applied to Nevada for a license under the state's Foreign Gaming Act.
Nevada is contemplating the first application from a gambling group that served US players prior to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that was passed in 2006.
"We are looking forward to working with Nevada Gaming Control Board in the areas of investigations, compliance and developing technical standards," said the Chief Executive Officer of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
