This weekend's Academy Awards event was fairly predictable when it came to bookie favourites winning prizes, with no major upsets.
While nobody can argue that the awards were not well-deserved, none came as much of a surprise.
The King's Speech took home four statuettes, including one for Best Picture and another for Colin Firth's role in the movie.
Natalie Portman, another bookie favourite, won Best Actress for her role as Nina in Black Swan.
There was stiff competition for the prize for Best Supporting Actress but Melissa Leo from The Fighter eventually won the award.
Favourites for Best Director were Tom Hooper of The King's Speech and David Fincher in The Social Network, but it was Hooper who eventually took home the prize.
Some of the other prizes of the 2011 Oscars were as follows:
Best Supporting Actor - Christian Bale The Fighter
Best Supporting Actress - Melissa Leo The Fighter
Best Animated Feature Film - Toy Story 3
Best Cinematography - Wally Pfister Inception
Best Documentary Feature - Charles Ferguson and Audrey Marrs Inside Job
Best Adapted Screenplay - Aaron Sorkin The Social Network
Best Original Screenplay - David Seidler The King's Speech
