Eight teams have been left standing ahead of the quarter final stage of the World Cup Cricket extravaganza, with the first match kicking off today, Wednesday 23rd.
The good news is that England has landed itself a spot in the quarter finals, although it will have a tough game against Sri Lanka on March 26th in Colombo.
Current odds have Sri Lanka as the favourite to win the match, although everything is still very much up in the air.
"We're pretty excited about playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka," said Ian Bell. "Sri Lanka's a big challenge, but we've had success there in the recent past, and we hope we can do it again."
But Sri Lanka has enjoyed a great run so far, and wants to reach the finals to give Muttiah Muralitharan the send off he deserves to cap his illustrious and brilliant international career.
The eight teams left standing are: Pakistan, West Indies, India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and England.
Odds on their matches are currently as follows:
Pakistan v West Indies - March 23rd
Pakistan 8/15; West Indies 6/4
India v Australia - March 24th
India 4/6; Australia 6/5
New Zealand v South Africa - March 25th
NZ 2/1; South Africa 4/11
Sri Lanka v England - March 26th
Sri Lanka 8/15; England 6/4
