Tonight's match between second place team in the La Liga standings
Real
Madrid and 16th place team Getafe should be a walkover for hosts Madrid,
which is why top sportsbook Ladbrokes has laid them as the overwhelming 1/5
odds-on favorites.
And unlikely though it is that Getafe will squeak out a win against the vastly
superior Real Madrid, if they do causing Real to drop a point, F.C. Barcelona
will become the 2010/2011 La Liga Champions, as they need only one more point
for the championship.
La Liga betting fans looking for a longshot bet
La Liga betting fans looking for a longshot bet might consider backing
Getafe to win at 11/1 odds. It is important to remember that while on paper
Getafe have no chance against Real, the visitors are nearing the end of the
season and thus have nothing to lose.
But with the La Liga title pretty much a foregone conclusion, many La Liga
betting fans are looking at teams facing relegation from Spain's premier
division. For instance, just four points separate 9th place Sporting Gijón and
18th placed Deportivo La Coruña.
This means La Liga fans can expect Real S. de Gijón, Levante U.D., R.C.D.
Mallorca, Real Racing Club, Málaga, C. At. Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Real Zaragoza,
R.C. Deportivo and Getafe to bring out their a-games in their final three
matches of the season.
