Most tennis fans expect one of two players to win this year's Wimbledon Men's
Singles title in the form of Roger Federer of Switzerland or Rafael Nadal of
Spain, arguably the world's two best and most exciting male tennis players.
So
it's not surprising most land and online sports betting sites have reflected
this sentiment in their Wimbledon betting odds, including leading online
sportsbook Totesport.com, which has Federer and Nadal as the joint 9/4 favourites
to win the title.
These long-time rivals they have dominated Wimbledon since 2003
Although Novak Djokovic (7/2) and Andy Murray (6/1) are next in the betting and both have their supporters, the
majority of tennis fans are expecting Federer and Nadal to face off in the final
in Center Court in a couple of weeks, in what would be a massive showdown.
These long-time rivals they have dominated Wimbledon since 2003. That year
Federer won his first Wimbledon title and went on to win the subsequent four
titles. His winning streak was broken by Nadal in 2008, but he reclaimed the
title in 2009.
Can Nadal win his 3rd Wimbledon title or will Federer claim his
7th
However, in 2010 Nadal once again proved the stronger player by winning his
second Wimbledon title. So the million dollar betting question is whether Nadal
can win his third Wimbledon title this year, or will Federer claim his seventh?
To make the prospect of another clash between these 'titans of tennis' even more
exciting, they are on opposite sides of the Wimbledon draw this year, which
means if they dominate their respective draws, they are guaranteed to meet in
the final.
What Are The Odds Of A Wimbledon Betting Upset
It would be remiss, however, to dismiss the chances of Djokovic and Murray. It
is not lost on betting fans that Djokovic has lost just one match so far this
year, which was to Federer in the French Open. So he will no doubt be eager for
revenge.
Murray, meanwhile, has more than enough talent to win Wimbledon, but
will have to overcome the fact he has never won a Grand Slam event in his
career. So another big Wimbledon betting question is whether he can break that
trend this year?
