With the first of September come and gone, many Microgaming fans will be
wondering what the software giant has in store for them this month regarding the
release of new games.
Microgaming casino licensees have been sending out teasers, hinting at what
players may expect, with All Jackpots Casino stating: "Stay tuned for the epic
release, and prepare to feel the power of the ring - coming soon."
This announcement gave players the impression that Microgaming
would be releasing the second game in its fantastic Lord of the Rings slot
series, and excitement was high.
However, later in the week, Royal Vegas online casino clarified
matters and said that the original Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring,
would be revamped and released this month.
According to Royal Vegas' press release, the revamped game will
build "on the success of the original game".
New Features
Royal Vegas shared some of the new features that the new look
Lord of the Rings would include.
For starters, the character, Gollum will appear in the new
online slot game. The Gollum icon could appear anywhere on the reels, and
players will be well rewarded when then happens. Gollum, a hobbit in the famous
film of the same name, is a much loved character and was once in the possession
of the famous One Ring.
Another addition will be the introduction of a progressive
jackpot, which is sure to appeal to online gamblers. Microgaming has decided to
go all in and add no less than four progressive jackpots to the new version of
Lord of the Rings, and they can be randomly triggered through the Bonus Wheel
feature.
"The higher the bet, the better the chances are of winning the
progressive slot," said the online casino.
Finally, Microgaming has added new imagery to the game, to make
it extra entertaining and realistic.
All the great features of the original game, including the 243
ways to win, as well as the Cinematic Spins feature have been retained.
Microgaming has not confirmed any of these statements, but is
expected to issue a press release of its own this week.
