In a recent press release, the Isle of Man's Department of Economic
Development outlined plans to develop a second casino and hotel resort. As such,
it has invited expressions of interest from groups who would like to work with
the government to establish a new five star hotel and casino.
The Isle of Man - which is one of the world's foremost land and online
gambling-friendly jurisdictions - has clarified its intentions to develop the
island's economy through the growth of tourism, which is why it recently issued
a license for a second Isle of Man casino.
There is a strong market demand for five star hotel, leisure and gambling
complexes, and the government is keen to attract more tourists with the right
facilities, and a second casino on the Isle of Man could be just the ticket.
The Isle of Man has already developed an excellent reputation for itself in
industries such as finance and e-gaming.
A key attraction for casino development groups would be the fact that no
gaming duty is levied on land-based casinos, nor is there a limit on the number
of slot machines that can be offered to customers.
The Isle of Man government will be liaising with the local Gambling
Supervision Commission and Global Betting and Gaming Consultants to consider
tenders submitted.
The second land casino promises to become a new Isle of Man gambling 'hot
spot,' and is a great opportunity for companies involved in the development of
casino and hotel resorts, especially in an English-speaking region of Europe.
Second Land Casino an Asset to Isle of Man
The Minister for Economic Development on the Isle of Man, the Hon. Allan Bell
said about the second casino license: "I believe the granting of a second casino
license and development of a hotel complex will be a great asset to the Isle of
Man, creating significant economic opportunities and benefit."
"Not only will the development create jobs in the construction and leisure
industry, but it will also significantly add to the Island's excellent existing
services."
The director of the island's Economic Development Business Development
Agency, Tim Craine, said that this was a rare opportunity to build on and
complement the Island's existing casino and leisure facilities.
"We are looking to work with organisations interested in the construction,
ownership and management of hotel and resort complexes," he said. "With good
transport links from the UK, beautiful countryside, as well as nine golf courses
and a range of outdoor activities, the Isle of Man offers an ideal location for
five star hotel and spa leisure complex - a welcome addition for both visitors
and residents."
